Local Patch - 30th May pictures include little owl, buzzard, a species of longhorn beetle, Tree bee, swarm of wild bees

Local Patch – 30th May A couple of walks around the Patch over this Bank Holiday weekend has proved very interesting. We have had several new insects, damselflies and lots of bees including Tree Bees in several places. Two small tortoiseshell butterflies were also seen. A buzzard was seen flying overhead, a little owl hunting through the trees and a reed warbler heard singing ..all new for this year. The little ringed plovers and lapwings now have young. The blackcaps and chiff chaffs are all singing again, probably back on territory for the next round of breeding.
